Punta Arenas Mayor Vladimiro Mimica started to experiment the first positive results of his visit to Europe last month, receiving two French offers of aid for the earthquake victims. Strasbourg, France, Mayor Roland Ries, sent a communication to Punta Arenas Mayor expressing the city hall and citizens of Strasbourg condolences for the tragic consequences of the earthquake and at the same time offering concrete actions of aid according to the exchange agreements signed when Mimica visited the French city.
The Chilean Mayor also held a meeting with Paris businessmen to sign agreements, the manager director of CODIFOR (Coopération Développement Industriel Formation), a businessmen organization, informed he was invited to a meeting next Friday at the Embassy of Chile in Paris, to decide a concrete way of collaboration with Punta Arenas Municipality, according to propositions made by Mayor Mimica on his recent trip.
A group work is going to be made up with the Embassy, businessmen and people from culture and arts in charge of Chilean citizen Tito Gonzalez, in order to crystallize French cooperation with earthquake victims through Punta Arenas Municipality. |
