Education matters, including possibility Magallanes students might apply for scholarships, were the main issues in the visit which Canadian Ambassador Sara Fountain-Smith paid to Punta Arenas Mayor Vladimiro Mimica.
The Ambassador visited Punta Arenas invited by Methanex company which showed to the diplomat its support to a certify program of environmental saving and efficiency in the use of energy with students of the Liceo Juan Bautista Contardi.
The Ambassador visited Mayor Mimica along with Paul Schiodtz, senior vice-president of Latin America Methanex, Roger Neumann, manager of Methanex plant in Magallanes and Amparo Cornejo, Methanex Government Relationships.
Information on public education in Punta Arenas and Canada was changed in the meeting, while Ambassador Fountain-Smith informed about scholarship system for foreign students in Canada. |
