The implement and start of the new tourism institution, according to the its new law, and definition of Tourism National Strategy 2010-2018 are the elements on which new Tourism Director Jacqueline Plass is basing its work. The CEO of the industry made a detailed presentation of the current situation and projections of tourism in a meeting with travel agents and tour operators, members of the Chilean Association of Tourism Companies (ACHET Spanish acronym).

The meeting was the place for interexchange of opinions with Plass, who emphasized the need to join efforts between public sector and private one, as the only way to face the challenges of the growing of an activity which deserves a more relevant place because of its significant contribution to incomes and national economy. She also said revitalizing actions post earthquake was an urgent task for Tourism Service and accentuated the priority of tourism for Economy Minister Juan Andres Fontaine.
