En el marco del ranking de los destinos turísticos más visitados en la Patagonia, Diario El Pingüino averiguó cómo se fomentan sus parajes a nivel internacional y qué se está haciendo por la región en estos términos. Ayer Diario El Pingüino publicó el ranking de los “Cinco destinos imperdibles de toda la Patagonia” (página 12), realizado en base a varios sondeos internacionales, que tomaron en cuenta la opinión de viajeros empedernidos de todo el mundo. Merecidas posiciones obtuvieron las Torres del Paine y Puerto Natales. Para saber cómo estos lugares han logrado tener reconocimiento mundial, han sido necesarias una serie de campañas para incentivar la visita de turistas extranjeros y nacionales.Consultado al respecto, el Servicio Nacional de Turismo (Sernatur) informó que se están llevando a cabo acciones especiales para Magallanes, entre las que se cuentan gestiones para procurar visitas a la región de periodistas de todo Chile y el mundo.

Asked about it the National Tourism Service (SERNATUR) informed special actions are being taken for Magallanes, among which it endeavors the visit of journalists from Chile and the world. The initiative aims to position the end of the world attractions in great print run media through experiences the communicators may accede.
Likewise, according to Magallanes SERNATUR, it has been stressed “publications as much visuals as written in the media of our priority markets”.
For Puerto Natales the accent has been put in its port and history, with attractions as “Ether Aike” craft small town or museums as the Cueva del Milodon site. So it is presented as “starting point of great adventures” as international rankings answer. In its descriptions the seaside promenade it’s shown as view point scenery for the mountain chain which keep it.
In the particular case of Torres del Paine, by means of promotion material, as a new video recently launched, it outstands better than a tourism destination as a “unique and unrepeatable” experience, crediting its status of 1978 UNESCO Reserve of Biosphere.
This way international promotions campaigns have been made through up to date publications on www.chiletravel web site, created specially for this end.
Asked about currently coordinated steps, the Service informed “we have started a joint work with governments and city halls from the entire region to create plans of action which allow us to encourage tourism in all the cities and territories”.
“We also are working in projects related to create tourism conscience, training different actors and bind culture to our activity”, they communicated.
In terms of internal promotion, has been obtained the Government gives priority to projects as, for instance, enhance and improve the Cueva del Milodon. In general, SERNATUR has directed its action in constantly tuning the work of the Tourism Information Offices in the entire region.
It is according to this plan that Andrea Tellez, head of SERNATUR Magallanes, has announced lately the opening of an office in Puerto Williams “as a way to respond the requests of the community and encourage the tourism activity at the most southern locality of Chile”. |
