Puerto Williams, the southern city in the world, was named as homage to Juan Williams, the founder of Fort Bulnes. Puerto Williams is the main populated center of Navarino island, located in the extreme of the American continent, across the south coast of Tierra del Fuego and to the north of Cape Horn. Its population is today of 2,500 inhabitants.

By sea you gain access to Puerto Williams through the Beagle Channel and by air by the Guardiamarina Zanartu airport, which has a tarmac runaway. It is located to 1 km. from the city.
