An important group of businessmen from USA state of Georgia attended the seminar and business conference “Building bridges in technology and cross-border services between Chile and Georgia” that took place in Atlanta with the aim of spreading investment opportunities our country offers to technological and global services companies.
The activity was organized by Corfo, ProChile, Amcham, Acti and Chilean Embassy in the States. The cases of two Georgian companies were expounded at the seminar, Delta Airlines and Wise Ocean, which are working in Chile.
Corfo’s vice president Carlos Alvarez said “we want to stimulate companies from Georgia to invest in Chile, offering services of high quality and creating exports”, like Delta Airlines and Wise Ocean.
Alvarez is making a program of visits to companies of Atlanta. Besides that, he made contact with community colleges from Silicon Valley to know their experience and be able to transfer their formation practices, especially in information technology area. “Our purpose is to know how they train technical personnel, so to start generating alliances with Chilean entities in order to improve quality of the offer in our country”, said Alvarez.
With the same aim of developing human capital for global services industry in Chile, he made contact in California with some leader universities to make easier professional training of high level.
