CAMERON
This town is located at the site of the old sheep ranch that was founded in 1904 by the Sociedad Explotadora de Tierra del Fuego. The town is named after the famous manager of the company.
VALLE DE LOS CASTORES
Recorriendo 100 Kms. desde Cameron se llega a este hermoso lugar. Con impresionantes bosques, aves, guanacos y castores y sus espectaculares diques en el río. Este especie fue traída desde Canadá a Ushuaia y se ha propagado en el área.
BEAVER VALLEY
The beautiful Valle de Los Castores is located 100 kilometers from Cameron. In this valley are forests, birds, guanacos, beavers and huge beaver dams in the river. This species of beaver was brought from Canada to the island.
LAGO BLANCO
Se encuentra rodeado de árboles y con vista a las cumbres de la cordillera fueguina, es el más bello de Magallanes, con cientos de aves y playas con abundante leña para acampar; frecuentado por pescadores deportivos pues es uno de los lagos que tiene mayor abundancia de truchas del tipo marrón y arcoiris.
LAGO BLANCO
Surrounded by trees and with a view of the Tierra del Fuego mountain ranges, this lake is considered the most beautiful in Magallanes. There are hundreds of birds here. The beaches, complete with plenty of firewood, are suitable for camping. Fishermen frequently come to this lake because of its large number of brown and rainbow trout.
CULLEN
Campamento y planta petrolera inaugurada en 1962. Su función principal es recuperar el Propano, Butano y Gasolina Natural contenidos en el gas natural y reinyectar a los pozos petroleros el gas residual. Se ubica en el norte de la isla.
CULLEN
This is a petroleum plant and camp that was inaugurated in 1962. Its main purpose is to extract propane, butane and natural gasoline from natural gas. Residual gas left over is used for reinjecting into oil wells to increase the pressure needed for pumping out the oil. It is located in the northern part of the island.
CERRO SOMBRERO
Emplazada sobre un cerrillo aislado que le dio su nombre. Construida en 1958 como centro residencial y de servicio operacional de ENAP en Tierra del Fuego, con más de 150 casas y cómodas instalaciones comunitarias, como gimnasio, piscina temperada y un impresionante jardín botánico interior, cine, iglesia, hospital y aeropuerto, además de talleres de mantención y bodegas de materiales.
HAT MOUNTAIN
This company town belonging to ENAP is located on the isolated mountain that gave the town its name. The town was built in 1958 as a residential center and operations center for ENAP on Tierra del Fuego. It has over 150 houses and many community facilities, such as a gymnasium, heated pool, indoor botanical garden, movie theater, church, hospital, airport, maintenance workshops and warehouses.
